Frequently Asked Questions
Some early orthodontic treatment can be done on children as young as seven. At this age, their teeth are still developing and the jaw is still growing. If there are any crowding issues in the mouth, this is the time to address them. More treatment might be needed in the future, but it is usually shorter and less involved.
Typically, your child’s dentist will recommend an orthodontic consultation if he/she notices any dental growth issues. You can always contact our office if you have any questions regarding your child’s orthodontic dental health.
The point of this first visit should be to determine if treatment is needed and if so where to start. If you haven’t already done so, photographs and X-rays of the teeth and mouth will be taken. This will help the orthodontist form a diagnosis, explain any orthodontic problems and recommend a course of action.
If treatment is needed, our orthodontist will develop an individualized treatment plan for you.
Depending on what the orthodontist determines, we offer a range of treatment options, including Invisalign, Incognito (hidden braces) and conventional braces.
Adult, teen and children patients are all welcome at Simi Orthodontics.
